Very Slow

The system is very slow at start up, it wont let me update on microsoft update site, seems to be a graphics issue as well....if I close a message/window in centre of screen it closes 'line by line' from the top very slowly, Im thinking a paging file issue or graphics but I'll leave that for you to decide.

Hi curlylad, long time no see.

OK your HJT log isn't telling me anything, so lets run a few more scans and see if they throw a light on what's going on.

First

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

If you already have a copy of OTL delete it and use this version.

• Double click OTL.exe to launch the programme.
• Check the following.
  
  • Scan all users.
  • Standard Output.
  • Lop check.
  • Purity check.
• Under Extra Registry section, select Use SafeList
• Click the Run Scan button and wait for the scan to finish (usually about 10-15 mins).
• When finished it will produce two logs.
  
  • OTL.txt (open on your desktop).
  • Extras.txt (minimised in your taskbar)
• Please post me both logs.

Next

Download TDSSKiller.zip and extract it to your Desktop.

• Double click on TDSSKiller.exe to launch it.
  
  • If using Vista or Windows7, when prompted by UAC allow the prompt.
• Click on Start Scan
• The scan will run.
• When the scan has finished, if it finds anything please click on the drop down arrow next to Cure and select Skip
• Now click on Report to open the log file created by TDSSKiller in your root directory C:\
• Post the contents in your next reply please.
• DO NOT TRY TO FIX ANYTHING AT THIS POINT

Please download Farbar Service Scanner ... by Farbar and save it to your Desktop.

• Double click FSS.exe to run it. (Vista - W7 users: Please right click on FSS.exe and select Run As Administrator).
• Select the following options ....
  
  • Internet Services
  • Windows Firewall
  • System Restore
  • Security Center
  • Windows Update
  • Windows Defender
• Press the Scan button.
• When finished, a text file named FSS.txt will be created on your desktop.
• Copy/Paste the contents in your reply please.
