i have the stupid Best Antivirus program on this computer...i kept telling my mother to get some protection for it but of course she didnt...now shes asked me to help her get rid of it..i downloaded the trend hijack program and it found some sort of host file that it cannot access and from my understanding of this virus (limited) i believe it must be that program..i cannot delete one particular file on my desktop and i am sure it is the virus file..please help me to remove this, my mother cant afford the programs that automatically do it. thank you :) i have attached the hijack this log..the file it had a problem with was O1-Host : :: 1localhost..it said my system prevented access to it and said to right click on hijack this and chose run as admin if using vista...then on the desktop, that option doesnt appear when right clicking on hijack this but does next to a new icon that appeared after running hijack this for the first time, labeled best antivirus..of course i did not click run as admin and have not made any changes to anything yet other than stopping the process for the best software using the task manager.
