Hi Ad,

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.

You're quite welcome. :)

Multiple antivirus products detected

You should always have one and only one antivirus product installed on your computer and the virus definitions for that product should be kept up-to-date. The following antivirus programs are currently installed:

AVG 2012
Microsoft Security Essentials

Please determine which one you would like to retain and remove the other when instructed to in a step below.

----------------------------------

Peer-To-Peer (P2P) software detected

Please Note Our Policy on the Use of P2P (Person to Person / Peer to Peer) file sharing programs posted here.

It's really important, if you value your PC at all, to stay away from P2P file sharing programs like utorrent, Bittorrent, Azureus, Frostwire, Vuze, Shareaza, Bitlord. Criminals have "planted" thousands upon thousands of infections in the "free" shared files. Virtually all of these recent infections will compromise your Security, and some can turn your machine into a useless "doorstop".

As a condition of receiving our help, it will be necessary for you to remove the following software:

Vuze

I strongly recommend that you uninstall the programs identified above
however that choice is up to you.
  • If you choose NOT to remove these programs, please indicate that in your next reply.
  • If you choose to remove these programs then perform the following steps:

    1. Remove Programs Using Control Panel
Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller.

      1. Click Start > Control Panel and then double-click on Programs and Features.
      2. For each program shown below, one at a time, right-click the entry, choose Uninstall/Change, and give permission to Continue.

The antivirus product that you do not wish to retain
        Vuze

    2. Reboot (restart) your computer

    3. Run a Scan with OTL
      1. Right-click the OTL icon on your Desktop and select Run As Administrator to run the program.
      2. Check the boxes labeled :
        • Scan All Users
        • LOP check
        • Purity check
        • Extra Registry > Use SafeList <-- Be sure to select this option
      3. Make sure all other windows are closed so that it can run uninterrupted.
      4. Click on the Run Scan button at the top left hand corner. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan won't take long.
      5. When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt will be displayed and Extras.Txt will be minimized. These are saved in the same location as OTL. (desktop)
      6. Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post them as a reply. Use separate replies if more convenient.

    Please include in your reply:
    1. The contents of the OTL.txt and Extras.txt logs.

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
