Help trying to remove Virus

Unread postby NormanB » January 18th, 2012, 3:01 pm

I am operating a desktop computer running Windows Vista. I have two log-ons for the computer. One for my family and one for myself. The Family log-on developed a virus last night. When I click on IE a program called Vista Antispywear 2012 appears and wants me to run it. It says that my computer is infected with Trogan-BNK.Win32 Key Logger Gen. I do not think that the program is really Windows Vista. I cannot connect to the internet. The Windows Vista keeps coming up. I am also getting the following message "Cannot Find C:Windows\System32|WLTray.EXE:.
So far the problem occurs when we log-on to the Family Account. When I log-on under my own account, everything is fine. I can get to the inetrnet. Under my account I just ran SuperAntiSywear under my account. It did not find any problems. I am not that proficent with computers so I would appreciate any help. About 5 years ago I had an issue and found help on this forum.
Thanks.

By posting just a description of your problems it is likely that your topic will be passed by and you will not receive the help you're looking for.

We need to know what's running on your computer so we can give you appropriate instructions.

May I draw your attention to THIS topic, which you should have read, and which tells you what we need you to post so that we can help you.

This topic will now be closed.

If you still need help, please start a new thread with:

  • FRST.txt
  • Addition.txt
  • Details of your problems.

If for any reason you can't run FRST, please let us know in your post.
