Files are having there date changed to 08/02/2016

Unread postby hurk27 » December 27th, 2011, 4:16 am

Merry Chirstmas every one and I hope we will all have a good New Year.

Ok I have notice other then the computer has gotten slower, doing some research into why Ad-Ware was not up dating I had notice that the definition file had a date of 08/02/2016 and Ad-Ware was accepting this date as a new dat file and would not up date it??? doing a file search I found thousands of files with that date many of which are system files and logs that mainly from Trend Micro and Windows.

on 12/15/2011 Trend Micro found a trojan it called: TROJ_FAKEAV.SMP2 and Quarantined a file called gvun.exe on the same date, both were found in my temp file folder for my user name which is an ad-min log on for this computer.

about this computer, I run a electrical contracting company from it, and do a lot of Google Earth work so its a fast machine, Dell XPS 630i Pentium core 2 quad-core with 4 gig mem, dual sata raid 0 hard drives, dual NV 9800 GT SLI'ed Windows XP with SP3 and kept up to date.

Ok I'm not sure if Trend Micro was able to stop this virus and I have not been able to find out much from them on it, or the file that was quarantined, but somthing did change these files to this date way into the future, I was able to un-install Ad-Ware and re-install it to get it to update, but I'm not so sure it is working or anything else as nothing is finding anything.

I have not run any other cleaners other than MWAB which also came up empty.

Here is my HJT log as I'm typing:

Ran Mbam in safe mode and it found two referances to Bad: (NOTEPAD.EXE %1) as a virus? doesn't make any sense at least to me?
