Hi hubzeron,
You have a disastrous problem with free space on your hard drive
Windows needs at least 15% free space to run correctly.
After you do the following procedures, please copy any photos, videos, other unnecessary files to CDs or DVDs.
Then erase them from your Hard Drive.
Consider this an emergency until you get to it, or Windows may stop working.
You can check Free Space any time by going to My Computer and right clicking on C: drive, choosing Properties
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove Programs Using Control Panel
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight each Entry, as follows, one by one, if it exists, and choose Remove :

Adobe Reader 9.3
Ask Toolbar
Conduit Engine

Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller.
----------------------------------------------
Download and Run Temp File Cleaner (TFC.exe)
Download Temp File Cleaner and save it to your desktop.
You might want to Copy/Paste/Print these instructions and Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs... including your browser!
Double click to run it. (Right click and choose Run as Administrator in Vista or Win7)
If you have a lot of junk files to remove, it could take a while, so please be patient and let it finish.
When it's done, it will report the total size of files removed. If it asks to Reboot, choose to do so. This will remove files that could not be removed while Windows was running.
After Restart, log back in to your usual account.
---------------------------------------------
Download the OTL Scanner
Please download OTL.exe by OldTimer and save it to your desktop.
---------------------------------------------
Run a Scan with OTL
  • Double click on the icon to run it.
  • Check the boxes labeled :
    • Scan All Users
    • LOP check
    • Purity check
    • Extra Registry > Use SafeList
  • Make sure all other windows are closed to let it run uninterrupted.
  • Click on the Run Scan button at the top left hand corner. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL. (desktop)
The Extras.txt file will only appear the very first time you run OTL.
Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post them as a reply. Use separate replies if more convenient.

Let me know if you have any success.

Go to My Computer, right click the C: drive, choose Properties, and tell me what it reports for Free Space.

hubzeron,
Did you remove the programs I asked?

You need to free up another 1 Gb of space before we can begin.
Can you Uninstall Adobe CS4?
--------------------------------------------
Disallow Indexing on the C: Drive
Go to Start, My Computer
Right click on the C: Drive and choose Properties.
At the bottom, UNCHECK the box labeled "Allow Indexing to Index this disk for fast file searching".
Click Apply, and OK.
CHECK the button to apply to all folders and subfolders.
Click Apply.
Go for a coffee.
When it's done, click OK.
-----------------------------------------------------------
REBOOT (RESTART) Your Machine

Run TFC again, allow it to Reboot and check for Free Space. Tell me what you get.

hubzeron,
OK. You have enough disk space to run now.
We wil find out what that error is as soon as the machine is clear enough to run a scan with advanced tools.
Can you tell me why you do not have Service Pack 3 installed?
-----------------------------------------------
Please Note Our Policy on the Use of P2P (Person to Person / Peer to Peer) file sharing programs
It is posted here: http://malwareremoval.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=491394#p491394
As a condition of receiving our help, I have included the P2P program µTorrent in the removal instructions below, so we are not wasting our time.
If you have used this, and your computer is infected, you can be fairly confident this is a principal reason.

It's really important, if you value your PC at all, to stay away from P2P file sharing programs, like utorrent, Bittorrent, Azureus, Frostwire, Vuze, Shareaza, Bitlord.
(Limewire has been shut down by the courts).
Criminals have "planted" thousands upon thousands of infections in the "free" shared files.
Virtually all of these recent infections will compromise your Security, and some can turn your machine into a useless "doorstop".
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove Programs Using Control Panel
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight each Entry, as follows, one by one, if it exists, and choose Remove :

µTorrent

Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller.
-----------------------------------------------
Download and Install HiJackThis
The Downloads for HiJackThis 2.0.4 are here: http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/
  • Choose the Installer version and save to your Desktop. It will be named HiJackThis.msi.
  • Double Click to run the installation.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and a text log file will open in notepad.
  • Make sure Notepad's Format Menu has Word Wrap Unchecked.
  • Copy/Paste the entire log to your next reply please.
  • No matter what it says in the QuickStart Guide or elsewhere...
DON'T USE the "ANALYZE THIS" button. Its Findings can be Dangerous for your machine.
  • Please Do Not have HiJackThis "fix" anything yet.
Most of the log lines are legitimate entries, necessary for the operation of your computer.
---------------------------------------------
Run CKScanner
Download CKScanner from HERE
Important - Save it to your desktop.
Doubleclick CKScanner.exe and click Search For Files.
After a couple minutes or less, when the cursor hourglass disappears, click Save List To File.
A message box will verify the file saved. Please run the program just once.
Double-click the CKFiles.txt icon on your desktop and copy/paste the contents in your next reply.
--------------------------------------------------------
WVCheck
Please go to WVCheck.exe. Save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click WVCheck.exe, to run the process.
  • Read the comments on the screen... then press Enter.
The scan can take a while, depending on the size of your hard drive.
  • Once the program is done, Notepad will open with the scan report. Save the report to your Desktop.
  • Please copy and paste the contents of the Notepad scan report in your next reply.

So we are looking for the log from HiJackThis, and the reports from CKScanner and WVCheck.
Feel free to use a separate reply for each if you wish.
(Also whatever you can tell me about Service Pack 3)

Make sure Every other window except HJT is closed (No other tabs showing in the bottom tray), and Click Fix Checked
Click the "X" in the upper right corner of the HiJackThis window to close it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove Programs Using Control Panel
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight each Entry, as follows, one by one, if it exists, and choose Remove :

Megakey
Download Accelerator Plus (DAP)
BrotherSoft Extreme Toolbar

Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller.
----------------------------------------------
Run Temp File Cleaner (TFC.exe)
Double click to run it.
If you have a lot of junk files to remove, it could take a while, so please be patient and let it finish.
When it's done, it will report the total size of files removed. If it asks to Reboot, choose to do so. This will remove files that could not be removed while Windows was running.
After Restart, log back in to your usual account.
----------------------------------------------
Set Machine For Automatic Updates
Not getting updates is a big mistake. You do not need to be knowledgeable about the details of these. But, if you don't do this now, your system will be impossible to secure. It may already have unfixable damage.
Use Start, Control Panel or Start, Settings, Control Panel.
Scroll down and double-click on System.
Click on the Automatic Updates tab, and tick the first setting option.
Click Apply and OK.
You will get updates, lots of them. (yellow shield in the system tray. Let it download everything it wants, including Internet Explorer 8).
This may continue for a while. Give it the OK for any necessary permissions.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Post a New HiJackThis Log
Allow at least a half day after setting Automatic Updates.
Start HijackThis
Click Do System Scan and Save a Log File.
When the Scan is complete, select the whole log (Ctrl +A), copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the log contents into a reply.

Looks like you did a good job.
Please make sure you continue to install Microsoft and Adobe Updates
Let's do a check on your installed programs, to make sure you don't have any left over problems looming.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Retrieve the List of Installed programs Using HJT
Open HijackThis.
Click Open The Misc Tools Section. Then scroll down the list if you need to, click Open Uninstall Manager and Save List...
The List of installed programs will automatically be saved as uninstall_list.txt in your HiJackThis folder.
In addition, the list opens in Notepad so you can also save as another name in another location if you wish.
Please paste the contents into your next reply.
