win#########.exe pop-ups

Unread postby tl1911 » August 18th, 2011, 5:55 pm

Hello,
My computer was recently attacked with the Security Protection virus. I used rkill and malwarebytes to remove the virus. Now, my computer keeps getting pop-ups saying win######.exe needs permission. Every time I close it, a new series of numbers pop up. I ran rkill again and it said: "Processes terminated by Rkill or while it was running:

\\.\globalroot\Device\HarddiskVolume3\Users\Tony\AppData\Local\Temp\thpm4421020561072590259.tmp"

Hi

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully first.

Please continue as follows:

  1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
    Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

  2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
