Hi Gary R,

My machine is working like a dream once again and my very happy machine and I would like to thank you very much for all your help. You are a true hero and I salute you.

I'm a front end web developer and I have always despised the web tech snobbery that I come across far too often. Snobs who hold chunks of knowledge like power and hide behind buzzwords and acronymns refusing to help noobs and fellow developers alike when it would be a better world if we all shared the knowledge like yourselves.

It would be very difficult to go wrong with your very precise and clear instructions and I'm sure many, like myself, would be flapping around in our malware junkyards with no clue what to do.

It is people like yourselves that make the web community a great place to be in and I again salute you. I would love to buy you a pint so I will just make a (small I'm afraid) donation towards your cause (or pint).

Once again I thank you very much

You're welcome, glad we could help.

Since everything seems to be working OK, we've just got a bit of tidying up to do .....

Let's clear out OTL and the files and folders it created. This will also remove SystemLook and remove the old remnants of Combofix on your computer.
  • Double click OTL.exe to launch the programme.
  • Click on the CleanUp! button.
  • OTL will download a list from the Internet, if your firewall or other defensive programmes alerts you, allow it access.
  • You will be prompted to allow the clean up procedure, click Yes
  • When finished exit out of OTL
  • Now delete OTL.exe (if still present).

ERUNT can be removed using Control panel > Add/Remove programs

As far as I can see, your computer looks clear of infection now.

Are you still noticing any problems ?
  • If you are let me know about them.
  • If not it's time to make your computer more secure.

Please read the article below which will give you a few suggestions for how to minimise your chances of getting another infection.

If your computer is running slowly after your clean up, please read.

PS .... Thanks for the donation, it is much appreciated.
