Havvy's Issues (mostly using Firefox)

Unread postby havvy » November 26th, 2010, 2:42 am

Alright. My (known) issues are as such:

  • Clicking URLs on Google redirects to http://google.com/webhp (before running Malwarebytes, it'd redirect to all sorts or random places)
  • While using Firefox, it will randomly try to open a page (which I found profile mode + -no-remote makes a good block)
  • I couldn't save the HijackThis log when it was in C:/Program Files/ (wouldn't save my removing of read-only from it)
  • http://imgur.com/gneKA.png and http://imgur.com/QO30q.png (though this may be a beta bug, it may also be a program detecting firefox.exe loading and then loading on top of it)

I'm using Firefox 4 beta 7 (if you couldn't tell from the images) and have Internet Explorer 9 beta installed. This is not a "Genuine" version of Windows, since it was a beta download of Windows 7 and no new key was bought.

The anti-XXX programs I have are as listed. Avira is the only program that runs a constant scan over the computer. Should I turn that off when I scan with MalwareBytes and Sophos Anti-Rootkit?

  • Trend Micro HijackThis v.2.0.4
  • MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
  • Avira AntiVir Personal
  • Sophos Anti-Rootkit

Unauthorized version of Windows Operating System
As the version of Windows is not a valid, supported version, we will not assist you in cleaning your machine. Unauthorized or BETA versions of operating systems are known to have problems and instabilities. By attempting to clean a machine with this type of operating system, there is no telling what the end results would be. The tools we use have been tested on supported versions of Windows and could cause more problems than you are currently experiencing.
