There must be something else still on there that we haven't found.
This infection can be devilish to fix at times.
------------------------------------------------------------
Please download the GMER Rootkit Scanner from Here.
  • XP : Double click the .exe file. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent
  • VISTA/Win7: Right click the .exe file and chose Run as Administrator. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan...click on NO
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following ...
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than the System drive (which is typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
      See image below
      Image
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish
**Caution** Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOTKIT" entries
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and post it in your next reply
Note: Do not run any other programs while Gmer is running.

I attempted to run the GMER scan, and it froze my laptop compeltely. I restarted the laptop by pushing the power button, and then ran the scan again after I logged in. I received a blue screen, and my computer restarted. Here's what windows said:

Problem signature:

The blue screen said something about a driver problem, but i'm not too sure (there was so much information, and it only flashed for a second!)

Thanks.

See if you can run an Antivir scan again and post the scan log without getting a blue screen.

Liiammm,
That's actually OK.
Antivir found the files that were already quarantined by Combofix, identified them as bad, and moved them to its own quarantine location.
The Combofix Quarantine folder is here: C:\Qoobox\
It is designed to hold infected files and render them harmless.
You can right click and delete that folder at Start > Computer > C: drive > Qoobox
------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think we updated your Java after removing the obsolete ones:
Download and Install the latest version of Java Runtime Environment from here : http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp, and install it to your computer.
In the first section on the page, labeled JDK 6 Update 22 (JDK or JRE), click on the button labeled Download JRE. Do NOT choose the button labeled "Download JDK".
Select the Platform Windows and check the box to agree to the license.
Choose the Windows Offline installation version and click on the link.
Download it, choose Save, and save it to your desktop.
Then doubleclick it on your desktop, (or right click and choose "Run as administrator") and it will install the newest version of Java for you to use.
You can then remove the Installer from your desktop.
-------------------------------------------------------
Update Firefox and Improve Security
Open Firefox. Hit an <Alt> key to pop up the File menu at the top.
Click Help in the top menu, and choose Check for Updates
Let it install any updates it wants.

Install Adblock Plus
Open Firefox if its not running. Hit an <Alt> key again, to pop up the File menu at the top.
Click on Tools, then Add-ons
When the Add-ons dialog comes up, type "Adblock Plus" into the search box, then click on it, and click the Add to Firefox button.
When asked to choose a filter, choose the first one.

Install NoScript
Open Firefox if its not running. Hit an <Alt> key again, to pop up the File menu at the top.
Click on Tools, then Add-ons
When the Add-ons dialog comes up, type "NoScript" into the search box, then click on it, and click the Add to Firefox button.
This blocks scripts from running on any website unless you click on the little "S" in the lower right corner of the screen and choose Allow scripts this page.
You should only allows scripts on trusted websites.

I don't see any malware on your system now. If it's running OK you should be good to go.

Alright, done.

I think I'll start using Firefox permanently now. I was receiving strange icons next to urls while using IE, and it was starting to scare me!

If there's nothing more to do, I would just like to thank you SO much for everything you have done. It really means a lot to me, and words can't explain how happy I am now that this issue has been adressed. I hope you have a great christmas, and a happy new year. I'll speak to santa and get him to drop you off a little somethin' somethin'.

Cheers.
