OK i have updated my Kaspersky Internet Security like u asked. However, the "blue screen" appears when i try to run DDS in Normal Mode. I have wrote down some of the "blue screen" message, and i'd like to put it here for you to see.

Does the blue screen only appear when you run ComboFix and DDS? Does it appear when you run other programs while in Normal Mode?

Step # 1: Download and Run RKUnHooker

  • Please Download Rootkit Unhooker Save it to your desktop.
  • Now double-click on RKUnhookerLE.exe to run it.
  • Click the Report tab, then click Scan.
  • Check (Tick) Drivers, Stealth. Uncheck the rest. then Click OK.
  • Wait till the scanner has finished and then click File, Save Report.
  • Save the report somewhere where you can find it. Click Close.
Copy the entire contents of the report and paste it in a reply here.

Note** you may get the following warning, just click OK and continue.

"Rootkit Unhooker has detected a parasite inside itself!
It is recommended to remove parasite, okay?"

Step # 2 Download and Run SystemLook

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2

  • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:

    Code: Select all
    :filefind
    ntfs.sys

  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found at on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

Step # 1 Upload Files

Go to Jotti
Copy the following line into the white textbox:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ntfs.sys
Click Submit.

If Jotti is busy, Go to VirusTotal and scan the file(s) there.

Ok i have uploaded the file and scanned it with Jotti and this is the result:

Filename: ntfs.sys
Status: Scan finished. 0 out of 19 scanners reported malware.
Scan taken on: Fri 6 Aug 2010 11:08:50 (CET)

Seems to be nothing wrong with that particular file i guess. However, the VirusTotal link happens to be a broken link i think because i could not open it.

When you boot up your computer, does it give you the option to load/boot into the Recovery Console?

Im sorry, but what is recovery console anyway? I notice when i boot, it goes into a black screen menu, with option to boot in safe mode if im not mistaken. But its only for a short while, maybe 2 secs, then it continues to start windows normally. Is that recovery console?

Just to let u know, i will be out of town for about 3 days. U have been a huge help to me so far, please DO NOT close this thread. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

For an in-depth description of the Recovery Console, see here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058.

What Recovery Console does is allow you to access areas of the computer without actually loading Windows itself. It can be used to fix a problem with Windows without needing to access Windows itself. When you see the black screen menu when you boot up, you should see two options. One should say Microsoft Windows Recovery Console and the other Windows XP home/professional edition (based on what version of Windows XP you have, home or professional). When the black screen loads, Windows XP is usually highlighted and that gets selected after the few seconds and that's why XP loads. When the screen shows up, you'll need to press the arrow key to select Microsoft Windows Recovery Console and that'll load the Recovery Console.

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
