I have been experiencing this problem for a while, but lately its gotten even slower. My Firefox browser opens too slowly. Also takes too long to get directed to, open and load up every website. Videos on Youtube and other sites load very slowly. I followed your "suggestions page" on how to speed up my computer first before posting, and completed those items. It ran faster for a few hours, but now browser getting slow again. Thanks very much for any help!

Highlight this entry, if it exists, and choose Remove : Java(TM) 6 Update 5
Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller. ---------------------------------------------- Run Temp File Cleaner
Download Temp File Cleaner and save it to your desktop.
Double click to run it.
If it asks to Reboot, choose to do so. This will remove files that could not be removed while Windows was running.
After Restart, log back in to your usual account. ----------------------------------------------- Run the RSIT Scanner
Please download the scanner from here and save it to your desktop. The icon will be named RSIT.exe
Doubleclick the RSIT icon.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open log.txt<- this one will be maximized info.txt <- this one will be minimized
( Both files will be saved here -> C:\rsit\ )
Copy/Paste the contents of both log.txt and info.txt into your next post please. Use two posts if you prefer.

Thanks very much for your help. Deleted Java (TM) 6 update 5 as instructed. Downloaded both programs and below are the result of the rsit.exe scans. After TFC.exe rebooted my computer, no program window opens showing results of the scan. I got a warning before starting TFC that it was malicious software, but I ok'ed it anyway. I did a google search on both programs...why do some results say they are trojans or viruses?

Some Antivirus apps may flag TFC even though it's not harmful, because it removes files at bootup.
They may flag anything that looks closely at the system.

Open Windows Explorer (My Computer)
In the top menu, choose Tools, Folder Options
Click on the View tab
In the list, under Hidden Files and folders, Check Show hidden files and folders
Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
Uncheck Hide protected operating system files (reommended)
Click OK ----------------------------------------------------------- File Deletion
In Windows Explorer (My Computer), navigate to the folder shown below, select View, Details, highlight the listed file only, and press Delete. Be careful not to delete any file without double-checking the exact spelling of the filename.

If you have any problem deleting the file, right click the file and choose Properties to see if it's read-only. Uncheck the read-only box, click Apply and OK. Then retry Delete.
If a message pops up saying "File in use", or something like that, hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and look under the Processes tab. If the exact filename is in there, highlight it and click End Process, then retry Delete.

Hi Askey127: I located the Driver Robot in Windows Tasks. However, I tried everything to open any files, and it continuously takes me to the Driver Robot window, where nothing can be opened. I selected "View" and "Details," but nothing opens. I also completed the other two tasks as instructed. It wasn't running any better. I popped out the memory strip in my computer, then put it back. Now seems to be loading everything quicker, as normal. We'll see if it goes back to slowing down again after a few hours, which is usually the case.
Let's try one more time.
In My Computer, go to the C:\Windows\Tasks\ folder. Click View, Details.
Put the mouse pointer on the file named Driver Robot.job and click the Right mouse button.
A dialog will pop down.
Click the Left mouse button on Delete in the dialog. If the file doesn't disappear, tell me what message you get.
Reseating a RAM card should not make the machine go faster, unless there was a bad socket connection, or unless the particular RAM card itself was failing after it warmed up.

When I go to the Windows Tasks folder and click View and Details, 3 items come up: Add Scheduled Task, Apple Software Update, and Driver Robot. For Driver Robot, it lists the times and day it runs, and also "could not start." There is no "Driver Robot.job," only "Driver Robot." Are they one and the same? If I left click on it, I can scroll down and delete the whole thing. Just checking to make sure I delete the right one. Thanks, -----Muraco78
That's the right one. Go ahead and delete it.
(You should not be using any automated updates of Drivers for your machine. Too dangerous. That's why it's best to remove it.)
