I am using Win 2K. The symptoms are not being able to enter safe mode, update Malwarebytes, go to Malwarebytes website, reinstall a new version of Malwarebytes is blocked, can't go to ESET online scanner. There are other quirks but those are the major ones. Here is the text from HijackThis:

It was Trojan:DNSchanger and Worm:Bagle in unison. I took control of the DNS and was able to get the MalwareBytes update. MalwareBytes then removed both infections. :D
