Slow to change presentations

I have a 3 year old Dell Inspiron E1505, XP Pro, V2002, SP3, 1.66GHz, 1 Gb ram, 80 Gb HD. Lately, I have extremely slow transitions from one application to another (e.g., IE8 to Outlook or Quickbooks to IE8, etc) - on the order of 30 - 60 seconds or more. Applications also take a great deal of time to boot up, even when operating system is up and stable. Using Bitdefender.

What do I have on here that is casuing this problem? I have done multiple searches by various malware application (installed, used, then uninstalled) to find anything. No results that work.

Make an uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

• Start HijackThis
• Click on the Config button
• Click on the Misc Tools button
• Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
• Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Save the file to your desktop.
