Hi peku006,
thank you for the reply and helping me clean and secure my laptop.

I read the entire post, cleaned with OTC, disabled and enabled system restore.

Also thank you for all the extra information you gave me.
Just a few questions about them.

1) I have used Winpatrol once before, but I couldnt understand if its messages were because of some routine thing or because something like virus. So I stopped using it.

2) Regarding alternative browser, I have Firefox, but it takes exceptionally long time to open (20-30 sec) so I am not using it. I will try uninstalling and installing it once but that hasnt helped me in past. So is Opera safer than IE?

Thank you once again.

Hi

1) I did not mean that you need to install all those programs ,it was only a "recommendation"
2) Yes, but keep in mind, as long as you don't stay away from illegal/questionable sites, no browser will be secure enough

Hi peku006,
thank you for the reply.

1) I only meant to know your opinion. :)

And btw, I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, and the start-up time after double clicking Firefox icon has improved - from 20-30 secs to 10 secs, but nowhere as near as IE..doesnt even take a sec. I think I better start using Opera, but will miss firefox add-ons badly. :(

Thank you.
