Internet explorer 7 ,8 issue

why does it keep throwing the it can't display webpage error and i dianose connections and nothing is wrong? tried enabling all protcols under security in internet options- advanced tss and other- 2 as well- it is now back to doing it with a twist- I try refreshing- nothin- click on another link it dies it- back out come in again and it works temporarily
even ran all updates with no success

i am working in forum as well and it is cleaned up on slowness issue and locking up - hjt etc
