HJT Log - slow performance - please help!

Hey all, I am having some issues with speed and performance not what it used to be, so I am asking for help from the experts. My PFUsage has been as high as 1.5GB at times and my performance has slowed to a crawl at times. I did uncheck a file (SNM.exe) from my start-up through msconfig.

Here are my PC specs:
HP a320n
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+

  • Press Open Uninstall Manager...
  • Click on the Save List...
  • After save the list, the uninstall list will be shown
  • Copy the whole content and post it in here.

There appears to be no Anti-Virus application installed/active are you aware of this?
Can you please tell me what Anti-Virus or any Anti-Malware application that you installed in your system? (if you have)

Please go to: VirusTotal
  • In the middle of the page you'll find a "Browse" button.
  • Next to the Browse button you’ll see a box to enter text.
  • Please copy and paste the following bold text in the text box:

    D:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe

  • Then click the "Send File" button just below.
  • This will scan the file (the progress bar will show "Current status: scanning"). Please be patient.
  • Once scanned (the progress bar will display "Current status: finished"), copy and paste the results in your next reply.

Then, go to the bottom of the page, click the "Another File" button, and do the same as above for the following files:
  • D:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe
  • D:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE
  • D:\WINDOWS\system32\HPZipm12.exe

Please go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

  1. Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
  2. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
  3. When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
  4. Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
      Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
      Archives
      Mail databases
  5. Click on My Computer under Scan.
  6. Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
  7. You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
  8. Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
  9. Please post this log in your next reply.
