Hi spectrospork242, welcome to MWR :)

===============

Let's open a command prompt and unregister the dll(s) we're going to remove, by entering the following:

regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\system32\khhfe.dll

It's ok, if these aren't found or 'error' out. If you want, just copy and paste the individual lines to the command prompt to save on the typing.

===============

Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00DBDAC8-4691-4797-8E6A-7C6AB89BC441} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\khhfe.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FF-FD60B590A87D} - (no file)

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FF-FD60B590A87D} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [stratas] lockx.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [stratas] lockx.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [stratas] lockx.exe

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
...(Unless you've set these with a anti-spyware program like SpyBot's Immunize feature, have HiJackThis fix this.)

O16 - DPF: {7C559105-9ECF-42B8-B3F7-832E75EDD959} (Installer Class) - http://cache.tbcode.com/ist/softwares/v ... egular.cab

O20 - Winlogon Notify: khhfe - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\khhfe.dll

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

files...

C:\WINDOWS\system32\khhfe.dll

Search for...

lockx.exe

...using "Start | Search...".

-

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them from "Safe Mode".

===============

Reboot back into normal mode

===============

To help protect your system from hostile ActiveX content, or special 'downloadable' files:

Download, install and keep updated, SpywareBlaster. If you've installed it for the first time:

1) Check for any available updates; if present, they'll be automatically downloaded and installed.
2) Next, "Enable all protection".
3) Exit the program.

-

Note: Remember to regularly check for updates.

================

Post back a fresh Hijackthis log :)

Hi

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

if you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

Hi

You have a vundo infection, we will get rid of that now

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
  • This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
  • After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  • Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
  • You will first be presented with a warning.
    It should look like this
    VundoFix V2.13 by Atri
    By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk
    Press enter to continue....

  • At this point press enter one time.
  • Next you will see:
    Type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff
    Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.
  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\ljhee.dll
  • Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
  • Next you will see:
    Please type in the second filepath as instructed by the forum staff
    Then Press Enter, Then F6, Then Enter Again to continue with the fix.
  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
      C:\WINDOWS\system32\eehjl.*
      This will be the vundo filename spelt backwards. for example if the vundo dll was vundo.dll you would have the user enter odnuv.*
  • Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
  • The fix will run then HijackThis will open.
  • In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:
      O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {6DD0BC06-4719-4BA3-BEBC-FBAE6A448152} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ljhee.dll

      O20 - Winlogon Notify: ljhee - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ljhee.dll

  • After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
  • Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
  • Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.
Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

now, after doing this i still have the winfix shortcuts on my desktop as well as it still trying to install itself.

did i do soemthing wrong or miss a step? should i have deleted the shiortcut icons from my desktop first?

another question, there are about 5 administrator accounts on this laptop. one is the overlord, i guess you could put it that way, and the others have administrative rights as well. should i repeat all these steps when i am logged into the mil administrator account?

sorry that i keep posting but, when i ran the active scan when i got home it did the same thing, it hung on a .dll file and then it did something really wierd. i have about 2.5 gb's of freespace on my hd, and everytime i ran activescan, it would eat up that free space and tell me that i had about 10 mb's of free space on my computer.

Hi

Do you know what this is?

C:\Program Files\WIRELESSCHK\dorun.vbs

Let's do the below and will then look at the other problem.

===============

Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NI.UWFX5RS_0001_0808] "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWFX5RS_0001_0808NetInstaller.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NI.UWAS5LP_0001_0811] "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWAS5LP_0001_0811NetInstaller.exe"
O16 - DPF: {9A9307A0-7DA4-4DAF-B042-5009F29E09E1} (ActiveScan Installer Class) - http://acs.pandasoftware.com/activescan ... asinst.cab

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

files...

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWFX5RS_0001_0808NetInstaller.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWAS5LP_0001_0811NetInstaller.exe

-

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them from "Safe Mode".

===============

Reboot back into normal mode and post back a fresh Hijackthis log :)
