Browser Hijacker

When I click on results to my web searches, my browser is being redirected to bogus search engine pages. This started in Firefox 3.0.6 using Google; I tried Internet Explorer with Google and had the same problem. Yahoo in IE was also being redirected, and IE crashed twice during searches. When I click on a search engine result it sends me to the IP address 208.122.40.130.

I believe I accidentally clicked on a malicious website last week (in Firefox). I was Googling a phrase and clicked on a dictionary-type site. The browser displayed a brief malicious site warning before going to the site. I quickly exited, and after that my troubles began.

I have scanned with Symantec Antivirus, Windows Defender, Malwarebytes, and Spybot.
Symantec did find a trojan horse. Filename: 1[1].exe
Location: Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\VEJGDWRV\
It is quarantined, but my problem remains the same.

Installed Programs

Please could you give me a list of the programs that are installed.

• Start HijackThis
• Click on the Misc Tools button
• Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.

You will see a list with the programs installed in your computer.
Click on save list button and specify where you would like to save this file.
When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file.
Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad into your next post.

Hey Dan,

Thanks for getting back to me. Whatever malware I have has messed up my computer so bad that I think I'm just going to wipe the drive. Besides everything I mentioned before, it seems to involve Adobe programs somehow (which were launching themselves and not working properly), and I kept getting error messages when trying to uninstall Adobe programs. I'd love to know what it is, but I think it's beyond help.
