PC Crashes when scanning with Ad Aware and Cure It

Hi, My PC is running very slow when connected to the internet. I have updated and run both Ad Aware and Cure It, but around halfway through both, the PC crashes and reboots. I am unable to complete the scans, and the web connection remains slow, or sometimes inaccessible.
