Hello everyone! I am new here and I really hope anyone could help. :D Lately, I've been bugged with this annoying thing that automatically sends malicious links to my contacts in Yahoo! Messenger. This started appearing the day after my cousin used my computer so I think she might have clicked on a similar link sent to her by one of her contacts. This sends a simple message to all my contacts, something like "Happy sankranti/pongal http://crackspider.net" which doesn't look superharmful so people may actually click on it. Bummer. I hope someone could help because I use my Yahoo! Messenger to get in touch with my family in Australia. :( So here is my HijackThis result...

P.S. Some lines in O4 look suspicious because Messenger is spelled as "Messengger". Might this be the problem?

Hi Saoirse,

Good eye on "Messengger", that is indeed part of the problem.

Have you set OpenDNS as your DNS service?


Step 1:
We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

* Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review along with a new HijackThis log.
