contracted antivirus2009, laptop keeps freezing

My computer contracted the Antivirus2009 maleware recently, and i downloaded Spyware Doctor to eliminate it. It seems to be gone now, but my laptop freezes everytime i enter internet explorer or any menu off the start menu. Also, it will not
allow me to run disk defragment or error checking on my hard drive. please help.
