So my friend's computer has been very slow. The AVG definition updates have been deactivated. When running AVG it found 8 critical objects which were quarantined and removed. AdAware found a ridiculous amount of objects from 'doubleclick', 'tacoda', and a few that escape me at the moment. They were also removed. I don't know if there's anything still lurking in the registry, but AVG still can't update its definitions and the Temporary Internet Folder (running on XP) says there's "An unspecified potential security flaw. Would you like to continue?", which I am not sure if this is a standard warning or not. Here is the hijackthis log:

Apologies for the late reply. As you can appreciate the boards are quite busy. If you still require help with your computer problem could you do the following:
MRU P2P Policy
IMPORTANT I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

BitTorrent

I'd like you to read the MRU policy for P2P Programs.
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the programs listed above (in red) & any other P2P programs.

Random's System Information Tool (RSIT)
  • Download Random's System Information Tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run the tool
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open, log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)
  • Copy & paste the contents of both logs in your next reply
