Remove Programs Using Control Panel
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight each Entry, as follows, one by one, if it exists, and choose Remove :

Java(TM) 6 Update 7

Check that the following two are not present in the list. They should have already been removed:
Adobe Reader 7.0.9
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

Remove those also, one at a time, if either remains.
Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into Keeping the program.

Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment(JRE), and install it to your computer. It is the 1st one on the page, called Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 11
Select Windows, multi-language.
Download it, choose save, and save it to your desktop.Then doubleclick it, and it will install the newest version of Java for you to use.

Install the latest Adobe Reader

• Click here to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 9).
• Check that your Windows version is the one selected and click on Download. Save this file to your desktop and run it to install the latest version of Adobe Reader.

Reset System Restore Points

• Click Start > Help and Support
• Click on ->Undo changes to your computer with System Restore.
• Click Create A Restore Point then click Next. Give it a name it and then click Create, then Close.
• Close Help and Support Center.
• Click Start | Run and type Cleanmgr
• Select (C: ) then click OK.
• Click the More Options tab.
• Click Clean Up in the System Restore Section.

This will remove all previous restore points except the newly created one.
This System Restore sequence is not to be done regularly, but only as a Special Case after the removal of malware.

My computer seems to be running fine, although I've had to end the TeaTimer.exe process when I've rebooted. Other than that, it seems to be doing well!

• Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the Combofix and the /u

• When shown the disclaimer, Select "2"

The above procedure will :

• Delete the following:
  • ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
  • VundoFix backups, if present
  • The C:\\Deckard folder, if present
  • The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
• Reset the clock settings.
• Hide file extensions, if required.
• Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
• Set a new, clean Restore Point.

(You don't really NEED the new restore point, but it won't hurt.)

I saw where at one point at least, Avenger had been installed on the machine. If you can locate it, please delete it along with the C:\avenger folder.
It is an extremely powerful tool. Like ComboFix, one mistake with it and your machine becomes a doorstop.

I would Suggest Installing WinPatrol - I like this much better than Teatimer. You can decide. Download and Install the Free WinPatrol, and view Instructions here: http://www.winpatrol.com/winpatrol.html
- WinPatrol is an active program that drops a "Scotty Dog" icon into the system tray (right click to check/change status), allows you to monitor/edit startups, services, Browser helpers, and prompts for permission if any program tries to change your system.
I think you would find it handy and easy to use..

I would keep both CCleaner and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
Just avoid using the Registry tools in CCleaner, and use a CCleaner version without the Yahoo toolbar.
The CCleaner Slim Download is here: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds . Choose the Slim version.
Double click on ccsetupXXX_slim.exe to start the installation of CCleaner. (XXX is the version number). CCleaner installs nicely over the old version.
