Can't access gmail or Igoogle.

Hello,

I cannot access gmail (either get a DNS error or it sends me to a google search page listing gmail as the top search. When I click on it I get redirected to some other website.)

Same thing when I try to sign into Igoogle.

When I do any other kind of google search, clicking on the results = redirect.

And I have an annoying popup add in the middle of my screen on any google search.

Finally my CPU usage is high and my computer is quite sluggish.

• Copy/Paste the first file on the list into the white Upload a file box.
• Click Send/Submit, and the file will upload to VirusTotal/Jotti, where it will be scanned by several anti-virus programmes.
• After a while, a window will open, with details of what the scans found.
• Save the complete results in a Notepad/Word document on your desktop.
• Post back results here, please.

Thank you for your assistance but I was able to solve the problem. I ran Kaspersky Online Virus scan which indicated 3 infections. I then ran Panda Software online virus scan which removed the infections. I can now access igoogle and gmail properly and I do not get the annoying popups when I do a google search.

Interestingly enough, I found that even with the infections, I was able to access gmail and igoogle using Firefox. This plus the incredibly faster browsing has gotten me to switch from IE to Firefox for good!
