Personalized settings pop-up

Hi

Just recently our computer has been playing up and ive noticed something that may be the problem. Every once in a while everything will dissapear from my screen except my backround, then all re-appear. Then a box pops up titled 'personalizing settings'. That then dissapears & is replaced with a DOS screen titled AOK.exe. After that dissapears (al within 10 seconds) everything APPEARS to be normal. BUT, if i click on certain icons or programs, such a C:/ or 'Search', alot of the times it will ony oen for a sec before vanishing. I've looked in my Windows Task Manager, under processes, i then find this AOK.EXE about 10 times in the list. It is located in C:/, evrytime i delete it, the above process repeats after about 5minutes & reappears in my C:/. Earlier on, when i was 1st discovering all this, the same thing was happenning with a program/virus/whatever called MSV2008.

Do you guys knowwhat this is, is it dangerous & can it be fixed

I am currently reviewing your hjt log and will post back soon with instructions.
As I am still in training, everything that I post to you, must be checked by an Admin or Moderator. Therefore there could be a delay between posts, but it shouldn't be too long.

• The fixes i post, are for fixing your issues only and by no means should be used on another computer.
• Continue to respond to this thread until I give you the All Clean,as even if you appear clean the chances are you are not.

• Please do not attempt to remove anything or fix anything unless i ask,This includes running any sort of anti-virus/spyware programs as they may make thing's harder to remove.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
• Choose your usual account.
• Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
• Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
• It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
• Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
• When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
• Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
  (Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
• Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

• Open HijackThis.
• Look under System tools.
• Click on the Open Uninstall Manager... button.
• Click on the Save list... button.
• It will prompt you to save. Save this log in a convenient location. By default it's named uninstall_list.txt.
• Notepad will open. Please copy and paste the contents of this log in your next reply.
