Get redirecter at Google and can't update antivirus software

Unread postby Ratters » December 10th, 2008, 5:08 am

Hi all,
First of all if I've posted wrong I'm soory, but doing a quick post before work. Now the second thing is, when I go to Google, and search for something, then when I click on one of the results, it seems to get redirected through to other search engines, and then I end up at another search engine, just for it to do the same thing again (I hope thats easy to understand). Also I can't updat either my Norton AntiVirus or my Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Professional. I'm stumped. I can use a computer quite well and understand then, but I've done all I can think of and I can't fix it. By the way I'm using FireFox. I ran HijackThis and this is the result:

Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

Re: Get redirecter at Google and can't update antivirus software

Hi Ratters

To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.

You will now be presented with a screen similar to the one below:

Image

5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.

Due to lack of Response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
