Hi, sorry for being impatient, but I suspect I didn't do a good enough job of cleaning out my system after all. Despite having scanned with a number of tools and the system reported as clean, my credit card was hijacked on Saturday night when I put a transaction through on Blizzard's WoW account management site (https secure site). Being wary of keyloggers, I even went so far as to open a notepad window with numbers 0-9 typed in and used copy and paste to build up the card number, then pasted it into the page. Despite that precaution, my card number was evidently stolen. Are there viruses that can read your internet cache or clipboard or what's on your screen or something? I don't even know how they did it, and it's got me pretty upset. I'm lucky my bank caught it before any major damage was done and cancelled the card.
So there must be something still lurking in my PC, I'm wondering if I should just try to find a system restore point from before I got the virus and go back to that. My Vista install is only a couple of months old and I'm almost certain it was clean until last week.
