Hi!

I have virtumonde...I picked it up researching one day. I realized something was up when I would click on links and would be redirected to the wrong site, would have popups try to automatically download, etc. Also, when I try to urn my computer off, it says a task if running (AppleMobileDevice.exe), so I go to the task manager, where that program is ususally running 35-40 times, and my CPU is at 100%. I have to manually delete the tasks to shut down. Also, I have a little notification on my sidebar saying my Windows Updates are turned off, even though they are on. I tried running Spybot in safe mode and normal mode, and it claims it deletes 7 vurtumonde trojans, but they just come back. Also, when spybot picks up on the virus, I will get a spybot error saying that it suggests I restart the computer and rescan, and if you ignore it/click no, the window keeps popping up. I tried running the Symantec Trojan program, but that isn't picking up on anything. I heard a rumor about running regedit....I'm afraid to download any more spyware because I don't know what's infected.

Hi

Install HijackThis

  • Download HJTInstall.exe to your Desktop.
  • Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe to install it.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Copy/Paste the log to your next reply please.

Don't use the Analyse This button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
Don't have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
