Thank you for your help. I am having a problems with signing into and out of different users for windows xp. The computer is running much slower and will not sign out properly including a proper shut down for the computer. The computer will also lock up after a few hours of not being used. Your HijackThis log shows no obvious signs of malware, and the symptoms your system is exhibiting may be related to other issues, it is possible they may even be hardware related. Accordingly, please follow the steps in the following link:

In addition to the steps in that article, I suggest you run the built in Windows disk check utility. Open "My Computer" and right click on the icon for your hard drive (usually "C"). Select > Properties > Click on the "Tools" tab > Click on the "Check now" button in the "Error Checking" section. A small window will open. Select the option to "Automatically fix file system errors," and click "Start." A box will pop up telling you that the utility cannot run and asking if you wish it to run the next time the system is started, click "Yes."

Close all programs and Windows and restart your system. It will perform the disk check on start up. This may take quite some time. Allow it to proceed, and do not interrupt the process. The system will automatically boot into Windows normally once it has completed its task.
