I receive a dialog on system reboot and every minute or so while "running."
"The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812a5b." <OK>

Welcome to Malware Removal Forum.

Your HijackThis shows no infection.
You just need to update Java, and install a Firewall, but let's try to deal with your problem firstly.

It should be better if you asked for help in a General Troubleshooting Forum, but let's give it a try.

Can you try this, and tell me if the problem continues?

In your Internet Explorer (IE7), go to Tools, select Internet Options, then click on the Advanced tab.
Look under the "Browsing" heading. If the box "Enable third-party browser extensions" is checked, uncheck it, then shut down IE7 and then reopen it.
