Hello and welcome to Malware Removal.

My name is km2357 and I will be helping you to remove any infection(s) that you may have.

I will be giving you a series of instructions that need to be followed in the order in which I give them to you.

If for any reason you do not understand an instruction or are just unsure then please do not guess, simply post back with your questions/concerns and we will go through it again.

Please do not start another thread or topic, I will assist you at this thread until we solve your problems.

Lastly the fix may take several attempts and my replies may take some time but I will stick with it if you do the same.

I will be back as soon as possible with your first instructions!

Step # 1 Download CCleaner

Download CCleaner from here to clean temp files from your computer.
  • Double click on the ccsetup.exe file to start the installation of the program.
  • Select your language and click OK, then next.
  • Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
  • Click next to use the default install location.
  • Under Install Options, choose all the default settings except I would recommend that you unclick/untick install the Yahoo! Toolbar, unless you want it. You can also Uncheck the 'Automatically check for updates' box.
  • Click Install then finish to complete installation.

Step # 2 Retrieve the Installed Programs List from CCleaner

Open CCleaner if it's not already running.
In the Left Pane, click Tools
Verify that Uninstall is highlighted in color, or click on it.
In the lower Right, click Save to Text File.
Pull down the arrow at the top of the Save dialog and choose Desktop as the location.
You can leave the filename as install.txt
Click Save
Exit CCleaner by clicking on the X button in the upper right of the CCleaner window.

Step # 3: Download and Run ComboFix

We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Be sure to save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

  1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

  2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleaning the system:

CCleaner Install List
C:\ComboFix.txt
New HijackThis log.

Use multiple posts if you can't fit everything into one post.

Update:

Been communicating with AidanBoy via PM as they are unable to post in this thread for the moment.

First message from AadenBoy:

1 June 08
I'm sorry I didn't know any other way to contact you but I did everything you told me and when it came up for combofix to continue scanning after the windows recovery console was done I said yes with continue so I could get the report at the end........but after my computer turned back on there was no report anywhere for like 15mins, so how do i get that report to post on here for you to look at it further on what the next step is to be???? Thank you for your time

My response:

You can find the log at C:\ComboFix.txt.

Post the ComboFix Log, CCleaner Install List, and a fresh HiJackThis Log in your original thread here.

You can do that by clicking Post Reply and then copying and pasting the logs into the post and then click Submit to submit the post to the thread.

AidanBoy's 2nd message:

I'm trying to get it done but what do i do when everytime I try the blue screen of death appears and then shuts down and restarts but it takes a few times to do so, how can i by pass that if i my computer doesn't stay on long enough for me to retrieve those reports

My response to that message:

When does the blue screen appear? Does it appear before the Desktop loads or after? Or does it appear as you are booting up before you login into Windows? What does it say on the blue screen?

Do have a flash drive/USB stick? You can try booting into Safe Mode and copying the logs over to a flash drive to another computer and then posting them from there.

To get into Safe Mode, do the following:

When your computer starts continually tap F8 until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

If you can't enter Safe Mode, try entering Last Known Good Configuration. To do that, do the same thing as for enter into Safe Mode, but this time select Last Knwon Good Configuration instead of Safe Mode.
