Tried posting 8 hrs ago but my post never made it to the board. This is second attempt.
Have been plagued with popups for spyware (obviously fake), mobile phones, gambling etc. Have tried all four scanners recommended on Mozilla help, nothing found. No popups on our laptop which has router to same internet connection, so I think my computer is infected. Please can you help? Log follows:

Open up Hijackthis
Click on do a system scan only.
Place a checkmark next to these lines(if still present)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - AutorunsDisabled - (no file)
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - AutorunsDisabled - (no file)

Then close all windows except Hijackthis and click Fix Checked

I would like you now to run a online scan, but first download and run this cleaner, please run it
on each user account, this save's scanning time and log size.

DownLoad CCleaner

*NOTE* CCleaner deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders. If you have anything in a temp folder,
back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner!

Download CCleaner to clean temp files from your computer.

http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds ... ading-slim

Double click on the file to start the installation of the program.
Select your language and click OK, then next.
Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation.
Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
On the "Windows" tab, under "Internet Explorer," uncheck "Cookies" if you do not want them deleted.
(If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for "Cookies" is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.

Will carry out your instructions tomorrow, The Boss will go bananas if I come in here again tonight!
Spent about an hour online, not one popup during that time, I would have expected 4/5 so I think Navilog has stopped this accursed thing. Thanks again - Mike

Hi again

All of what Kaspersky AntiVirus found are in Quarantine and System Restore,

First off it looks like in the past you had run a online scan with Trend Micro online scanner housecall6.6.

Can you please empty the Quarantine folder

Go To

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.housecall6.6\Quarantine <<<and empty this folder

Now Empty your recycle bin.

Go to your desktop, right click on your recycle bin and select empty

Now go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall Navilog1, now go to C drive, program files and make sure the Navilog folder is gone.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.

Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.

Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 5.
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
Click the "Download" button to the right.
Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.

This is a good time to clear your existing system restore points and establish a new clean restore point:

  • Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
  • Select Create a restore point, and Ok it.
  • Next, go to Start > Run and type in cleanmgr Select C and Click ok
  • Select the More options tab
  • Choose the option to clean up system restore and OK it.

This will remove all restore points except the new one you just created.

Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly.
This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware

Winpatrol <= Download and install the free version of Winpatrol. a tutorial for this product is located here:
Using Winpatrol to protect your computer from malicious software

You should be ok now, just please post back and let me know you were ok, and all went well, with all the above instructions.
