Ultra Infection, AV systemcare +others!! Please help me!!

Hello everyone,

today as was working on my pc avast alerted me of multiple infections in the my docs temporary folder. THere was trojan horses, trojan generators, malware.I moved them to chest and deleted them. After that a AV SYSTEMCARE windows poped-up and I closed it. Since then every 3 minutes, WINPATROL alerts me that ddcbxxu.dll, bsaoxjh.dll,vtsqr.dll are trying to add-on to the IE or are trying to access the startup.

PLEASE help me, this is very annoying. Here is my HiJachThis Log:

As I am still on training, everything that I post to you, must be checked by a Teacher. Thus, there may be a tiny bit of a delay between posts, but it shouldn't be too long.
  • Whatever repairs we make, are for fixing your computer problems only and by no means should be used on another computer.
  • Continue to respond to this thread until I give you the All Clean! If you have any questions or you're stuck in there please reply it to me. I will try my best to help you! Not having symptoms of malware doesn't mean that you are clean!
  • Please do not carry out tasks on your own before I reply as this will only complicate things and may mean that my instructions are useless or dangerous!

Hi

Temporarily disable Winpatrol
Winpatrol is very useful for checking what programs start with Windows, but it will interfere with the fix process. Please follow these steps to disable it until your computer is clean.
  1. Right click on the Scotty Dog near the clock and select Options.... A window will open.
  2. Select the Options tab.
  3. Uncheck (untick) this box: Automatically run Winpatrol when computer starts.
  4. Close the Winpatrol window.
  5. Right click on the Scotty Dog again and select Exit Program.

Please remember to re-enable Winpatrol when your computer is clean

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Please rename HijackThis

  1. Please open My Computer and go to C:\HijackThis
  2. Right click on HijackThis.exe. Select Rename.
  3. Type in scanner and press Enter.
  4. Double click on scanner to run it.
  5. Select Do a system scan and save a logfile. Please post back this log in your next reply.

OK, the Vundofix probably didn't remove one file ddcbxxu.dll vundofix rebooted the system, but I don't think it worked!

Hi
You have used an old version of VundoFix. VundoFix is constantly being updated with new variants of the infection, making older versions useless.
Please delete this copy and download the latest version from >here<

Please then re-run VundoFix, here are the instructions:

  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • When VundoFix opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note:It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will attempt run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

*If VundoFix gives an runtime error on startup you are most likely missing the file: comdlg32.ocx A new copy and instructions on where to put it can be found HERE

This is not malicious. It is related to "Bonjour for Windows" software, more info here. We can deal with this later.


  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • When VundoFix opens,Click Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once the scan is complete, Right Click inside the listbox (white box) and click add more files
  • Copy&Paste the entries below:
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmnnl.dll
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcbxxu.dll
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\nymxkoii.dll
  • Click Add Files and Click Close Window
  • Click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.


*If VundoFix gives an runtime error on startup you are most likely missing the file: comdlg32.ocx A new copy and instructions on where to put it can be found HERE

I did what you said BUT theC:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcbxxu.dll file isn't removed yet. While Vundofix attempted to remove it, the "System Shutdown" window poped-up (the one with the 60'' countdown) but it closed imediately, vundofix told me that it couldn't remove it... >restart>vundofix couldn't remove it > 2nd restart, and the same again,so I gave up.
The browsing behavior of the PC became weird since the incident, (some pages load,some not) is there a possibility that the malware is causing it, or should I call the Internet provider? :)

  • Close any open browsers.

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.


Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

ComboFix disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before ComboFix completes its run. If ComboFix runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine

REFORMAT & REINSTALL

Since you decided to do a clean install read some information below.

Please make sure that you know what to do before beginning the operation.

Then there are a couple of things you should do immediately after installing Windows and before surfing the net...
  • Use an Anti Virus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future. See this link for a listing of some on line & their stand-alone anti virus programs:

    I recommend AVG Anti-Virus (Free Edition)!
  • Update your Anti Virus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Anti virus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your anti virus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
  • Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is susceptible to being hacked and taken over. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly. For an article on Firewalls and a listing of some available ones see the link below:

    I recommend ZoneAlarm (Free Edition)!
  • Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
  • Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
    • From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
    • Click once on the Security tab
    • Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
    • Click once on the Custom Level button.
      • Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
      • Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
      • Change the Initialise and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
      • Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
      • Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
      • Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
      • When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
      • If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
    • Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.

  • Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option.
    This will provide real-time spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an anti virus software. A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

  • Install Ad-Aware 2007 - Install and download Ad-Aware. You should also scan your computer with the program on a regular basis just as you would an anti virus software in conjunction with Spybot. A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

  • Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs. A article on anti-malware products with links for this program and others can be found here:

  • Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.

Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.
