I'm using a,
Windows XP

Ok, a few days ago my brother clicked on a site which had a trojan / virus. I believe it used a backdoor to install bunch of .dll's. ( I scanned my task messenger with that taskmanager thing.)
Feed Backs: (these are things I think are mallicious dll's
aqtsq.dll
vtuspqo.dll
vtuspqo.dll
BndDtive7.dll

After that, I had pop ups saying that I have viruses from my comp and there were also pop ups that acted as a "user friendly", all of which were from unknown sources. I also had 2 internet link shortcuts on my desktop which kept reappearing everytime I deleted it.

Here are the steps I took.
1. tried to delete all the programs I didn't install from add/remove program.
(still had the pop ups)
2. used the task manager 1.7 program to check out my processes, I found 3 suspected, malicious .dll's.
vtuspqo.dll
BndDrive7.dll
awtsq.dll
3. I googled the dll after not being able to delete them from my window32 folder.
- At this point I thought I had a "vundo", trojan horse virus.-
4. Downloaded the HijackThis from this website.
5. Tried to remove the dlls but didn't work.
6. I did a system restore.
Didn't work
7. I went onto safe mode and try to delete the programs ....
Didn't do much. I ran Avg anti-spyware (trial verision) and found an adware, "adware.generic" was found and was deleted.
8. I restarted my comp and did a system restore , to an ealier time, and the stuff was gone.
I couldn't find the vtuspqo.dll or any of the other ones.
I'm prety sure i didn't delete them, and the system restore I did, It was restored to the time period where I had the vtuspqo.dll.
Now I can't find any of the dlls in the window32 folder.
9. I checked the taskmanager 1.7 thing and found out that the dlls are still running, and is located at the windows32 directory. (but it's not, I checked- twice).

EDITED: I forgot to mention, my "Remove Startup Program Buddy" picked up the vtuspqo.dll, dll and I can't delete it.

Everything's a bit better now.. No popups and false warnings but I'm not sure if my system's completely clean.
I have the HijackThis log and please check it to see if it's clean.

In case I do have the vundo virus or worm or w/ it is..
can you suggest some reasonably priced anti spyware/virus programs that removes it? As well as give some real-time protection?

Ones I have now..
-Spybot Search and Destroy
-Avg anti-spyware (trial version that ended)
- Trend Micro Anti-Virus (out of date, yet to be renewed)
- Trend micro anti-spyware(out of date, yet to be renewed)
- Remove startup program
- window washer
- CleanUp!
- HiJackThis

Some questions I have...
1. Will malicious things continue to be installed on my comp and the condition of the comp worsten if I Shut down my computer and turn off my internet connection ( turn my modem off)?

2. When in safe mode and using an administrator account, if I change things, delete things there, will the things in a normal account ( one not in safe mode) be changed?

3. What's a malware?
