I tried a different link and was able to get the program, thanks though.

RogueRemover found nothing however.

Hi,

Looks like Vundo is still onboard...

Step 1: Upload malware to uploadmalware.com
Please go to http://www.uploadmalware.com/

Put your username in the correct box and give a link to this topic.
In the File(s) To Submit: copy and past the following (one line per box):
C:\windows\system32\rcorcvgn.dll
<any files you find in the system32 folder with 'ngvcrocr'>

Now click Send File and close the window.

Step 2: Run VundoFix
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once the scan is complete, Right Click inside the listbox (white box) and click add more files
  • Copy&Paste the 2 entries below into the top 2 boxes (one line per box):
    • C:\windows\system32\rcorcvgn.dll
    • if you found a file with the name 'ngvcrocr' in Step 1 also add this one:
      C:\windows\system32\ngvcrocr.*
  • Click Add Files and Click Close Window
  • Click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HijackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Greets, John.

When you said any files I find in system 32, do you mean look for more files to copy and paste to send to them or just the one you said?

Okay well I did a search for ngvcrocr, and could not find it, but I sent the one file off and going to do the scan.

I wish I could edit things on here, would be much easier, but I tried sending the file out but I got this message "The file you tried to upload was 0 Bytes or something prevented it from being uploaded. If someone requested you upload the file please let them know."

Hi,

Lets try it another way...

Step 1: Back up the registry
  • Download ERUNT
  • Save it to your desktop. Run and install this program.
  • In the box that opens only choose System registry
  • Then click OK.
  • Click save and then go to File > Exit.
This is so the registry can be restored to this point if we need it. It may take a minute. Just let it go until it's done.

Step 2: Run RegFix
Please do this:
  • Copy the contents of the Code Box below to Notepad.
  • Name the file as fix.reg
  • Change the Save as Type to All Files
  • and Save it on the desktop
Code: Select all
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"NI.USYP_0001_N76M1005"=-

Make sure there are NO blank lines before REGEDIT4
Make sure there are TWO blank lines at the end

Then double-click on the fix.reg file, and when it prompts to merge say yes.

Step 3: Remove bad HijackThis entries
  • Run HijackThis
  • Click on the Scan button
  • Put a check beside all of the items listed below (if present):

    O15 - Trusted Zone: http://locator.cdn.imageservr.com
    O15 - Trusted Zone: http://scanner.sysprotect.com

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: rcorcvgn - rcorcvgn.dll (file missing)

  • Close all open windows and browsers/email, etc...
  • Click on the "Fix Checked" button
  • When completed, close the application.
Step 4: Download and run Killbox
Download the Killbox.
Unzip it to the desktop

Double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

Select "Delete on Reboot".
Place the following line (complete path) in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox:
c:\windows\sytem32\rcorcvgn.dll
Put a mark next to "Delete on Reboot"
Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.
If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

Step 5: Update Adobe Reader
It looks like your version of Adobe Reader is out of date and you're vulnarable for infections.
Please download the newest version here:
http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/reader/

Install it, then go to Add Remove Programs and remove any older versions that may remain.

Step 6: Update Java
Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
  • Download the latest version of Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6.
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.

For ERUNT, I was never asked to save the file, I did get the window where I clicked OK though.

Also was RegFix a program I downloaded already or no?

Hi,

It should've worked fine than...

You should make the regfix by yourself, it's something specific for every computer so you can't find the right one on the web. Just follow the instructions :)

Okay I figured out what you meant about it sorry. fix.reg did not really prompt me to merge but did ask me 1 or 2 things that I did say yes to, is that the same thing? I did not see a "merge" option until I right clicked on the file and moved it.
