Unwanted Pop Ups - Think I might be infected - 2nd Computer

I am not clever with computers - so please tell me if I have done this incorrectly - I was told to start a new thread

Hi my name is Chloe and Malware (Curlylad) has been assisting me with my computer for the reasons above. However, my son has a computer downstairs which he uses via (USB wireless adapter) to my Broadband and he is having the same problems of Pop Ups telling him he has Trojan and he needs to purchase their software to get rid of them. He has Norton Internet Security 2007, and that does nothing. I now need assistance with clearing my son's computer.

Thank you for your response - I will do as you have asked and get back to you as soon as I can. Trying to locate disk to download use of ethernet/usb on son's computer as he has been using wireless, but cannot connect to internet with wireless in safe mode.

This computer is fine now - no more pop ups - and it seems to be running fine.

Do we need to do anything else? Do I take off the items I have put on the desktop e.g. Hijack etc.,?

I have downloaded all the things you suggeted, and when I did Spybot Search & Destroy still found 11 items, which were removed. Will this always be the case? Maybe a stupid question to you, but remember I am new!!!

Does this mean that this computer is now finished? Gosh!!!

Yes thank You - Well my son and I are most grateful to you for your help and we cannot (well I cannot as I am the one that spent my evenings after work trying to understand and cleaning his machine) thank you enough - its well past midnight and I am tired - and I still have my computer to sort out - but thats another day - so thank you once again, and everyone at Malware and PC Advisor who told me about you guys - I will do the right thing and support you all, and obviously a donation.
