Hi Phil,

Are there any error messages for the programs that fail to update?

When Avast did it's initial scan, did it find or report any malware or infections?

I am currently checking on some items and will get back to those if needed. When I find out what I need to know, I would like to try and run Systemlook again.

no error msg for failed update to apple itunes, it just saied updating and the failed... avast scan didnt report anything... ill get on the system look as soon as i get the new copypasties...

Don't arbitrarily run what you did before. There are some changes I need to look at.

Step 1.
Use windows Disk Cleanup to remove any temporary files.
Please copy cleanmgr.exe and paste to the "Search programs and files" bar and press enter.
Allow the program to scan and open a report window.
Select all the radio boxes listed for cleaning whether there is data to be deleted or not.
Press the "Clean up System files" button. When the program completes its action procede to step 2.



Step 2.
SystemLook

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.

• Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
• Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield: Do not include the word Code

• Click the Look button to start the scan.
• When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.

Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

the quote you asked about is the "grime" on my computer. i left out 13 or so settings on my pc that could be causing problems but that along with obsolete apps and such are things i can only see with a paid subscription. the button to open or resolve them is a link to a paid version...

I am not to sure about the systemlook results as it should have found at least one folder. We will look back at that later.
Let's see what programs are installed.


Step 1.
MiniToolBox

Please download MiniToolBox.exe and save it to your Desktop.

• Double click MiniToolBox to run it.
• Check the following in the list:
  
  • List Installed Programs.
• Click Go.
• A file name Result.txt will be created in the same location where you downloaded MiniToolBox.exe
• Please post the contents of the Result.txt in your next Reply.

Step 2.
Security Check

• Please download Security Check by screen317 from one of the links below:

  • Link 2
• Save it to your Desktop.
• Right click SecurityCheck.exe And select " Run as administrator " , then follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
• A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt
• Please post the contents of that document.
