Hello guys! Your time and efforts are very much appreciated. I need help with my system. I started to encounter the symptoms about a week ago. And as follows: 1. Browser redirections 2. System restore not working (It says it's off but in the configuration, it says it's on) 3. Windows security service cannot be started 4. No sounds (tried to go to control panel, got an error message: "Windows Common Shell Dll is not responding") 5. Windows Media Player not working I would like to share what I did preliminary. First, I run Ashampoo Winoptimizer 6. Then, I run my personal security protection McAfee. Found 6 infections and was able to clean it. Next, I ran MBAM found a bunch and was able to clean. Then I use Hitman Pro and was able to clean some. From here, I was able to resolve the browser redirection and windows security service issues. But the rest of the issues still remains. Thanks for all the help. I will keep MBAM installed and run at least once a week unless you recommend another freeware malware scanner that is more efficient than MBAM.
