Hi rexel.
Well done getting those scans done, it looks like a permissions issue with windows defender.
Have you had any more redirects? let me know in you're next reply.
One more thing to clean up then i would like you to run an online scan.

Registry fix file.

  • Please copy the contents including any blank lines of the Code Box below to Notepad, Do not include the word CODE:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\URLSearchHooks]
    "{00000000-6E41-4FD3-8538-502F5495E5FC}"=-

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00000000-6E41-4FD3-8538-502F5495E5FC}]

  • Make sure there are NO blank lines before Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00..
  • Name the file fix1.reg
  • Change the Save as Type to All Files
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Right-click on the fix1.reg file and chose run as Admin, and when prompted to merge reply "Yes".

  • ESET log.
  • Please give me an update on your computers performance, any more redirects?
No, i dont have any more redirects, but the online thing is not working for me )=

When i click:

it shows:

And the place where i am supposed to have the scan done is just an empty box.
Nevermind, i tried doing this on Safari and its working now.
It's taking a very long time!
Thats ok let it run it can take some time.
Are you going to be online in the next couple of hours?
I was hoping to get this problem fixed today )=
I will be here for a little while yet :)
ah ok, the scan is at
45%
total scan time: 58m
its not moving
We may need to try another scan if this one won't complete.
Leave it a while longer and let me know what happens.
2 hours and 7 minutes and its only move up 1 percent from 1 hour ago
It depends on how big you're HD is and how many files it has to scan.
It shouldn't take longer than around 3 and a half hours
I have to go now post the log if it finishes and i will review it first thing..
Hi cypher, after four hours , the scanner reached 99% and then just froze for 30 minutes.
I restarted the process and now @ 31% hoping it doesnt fail again :-)
Hi rexel.
How did it go were you able to complete the scan?
Question it looks like there are multiple accounts on you're PC.
Were you using the admin account when you tried to disable windows defender and run the online scan?
Hi Cypher,
I tried a second scan and again it just froze at 99% after another four hours.
Yes, i was using an admin account while trying to disable windows defender and the online scan.
