"Is there a safe way to Bit torrent?" - the problem is that in order to use the filesharing programs you have to specify that the programs are allowed to bypass your security measures (to allow you to receive or transmit the files). And a malware-infected file could be named anything even a legit-looking filename. Therefore there is no way they can be safe and still work, sorry. On top of this some of the P2P programs themselves contain adware and the like (though others are clean in this respect).
