Hard drive-consuming log files being created

I'm having a bit of a problem with text files that are being created automatically and eating up my disk space. Every time I start Windows, a log file named MSI[xxxxx] is created in C:\Windows\Temp that quickly grows over a gigabyte and keeps expanding. This has gone on for at least a month, and n the worst case these logs have grown to over 184 gigabytes. Upon examining the log file, I've noticed that it ends up spamming three lines over and over gain. When I try to delete the most recent log, it says that it's in use by wuauclt.exe (or Windows Installer if I close that program.) I've tried to scan with MBAM and MSE for a virus, but it's picked up nothing. I've also tried scanning for corrupt system files with Sfc, but it's also picked nothing up. A friend reccomended me to use Combofix, but it hasn't solved the issue. Thank you so much, this virus was a complete pain and I wouldn't have been able to get rid of it without your help.
