MS IE Explorer window vibrating - believed to be malware

Thanks for all your help. I plan to reformat my computer when I have a clear day one weekend. In the meantime I have disconnected the ethernet cable so it cannot now connect to the internet or the network.

I will start new topic as you suggested to check my labtop when I return from a few days away.

I will also make a donation.

I will be quite honest with you - re your comments about safe browsing - I think the malware got into my computer from a porno site. These sites seem to be very complex and open multiple windows all trying to open videos etc and I feel the malware writers feel morally justified to target porn sites. I will not follow links from spam e-mails either in future or go to porn sites.

I presume this thread is now closed. Will it be accessible for a while so that I can get to the links you recommend or will it be deleted?

From what you have described it seems likely the infection came from a video containing a Flash Player or Windows vulnerability.

I have listed some information below on tools you can use to help reduce the chances of re-infection. When you reformat and install Windows your first priority should be to install an Anti-Virus program, then install all available Windows Updates and then install the tools below.

Microsoft releases patches for Windows and Office products regularly to patch up Windows and Office products loopholes and fix any bugs found. Install the updates immediately if they are found.
To update Windows
Go to Start > All Programs > Windows Update > Check for updates.
