I need help verifying that my computer is clean after a recent round of problems. I started noticing a few odd things were happening on my Toshiba netbook last weekend. While browsing the internet certain parts of the text would disappear when I ran my cursor over them. I then started receiving the false notifications from the fake trojan virus prompting me to buy their software to remove an infection blah blah blah. I then rebooted my computer in safe mood without network connections to conduct a scan using Avira software. It located the infection and it was supposedly removed. I restarted the computer to verify it was running correctly and then turned it off for the night. The next morning after trying to turn the comp on it just gave me a black screen. No Toshiba logo or anything. I hooked the laptop up through the vga port and it seemed to be running. I tried using the “fn” F5 combination, but I’m not sure it actually fixed the problem.
