Hi Ken :)

If any of these are paid for versions... I would keep them until they expire.
This is my personal opinion, other's may feel differently... Keep everything except:

Spybot Search & Destroy-------------- Unless you are using it's Immunize feature that will update your HOSTS file... it's not that effective and can be removed

Hijack This-----------------------------Remove... not needed

Sophos Anti Rootkit---------------------I would remove, MBAM has some rootkit detection. Can always be downloaded if needed.

Spyware Blaster------------------------Can be helpful as it places known bad sites into your "Restricted Zone", so they can't be accessed. Do not use if using IE8 and have "SmartScreen Filter" active. Can cause browser to crawl.

Hopes this helps. Unless there are more malware concerns or questions, I'll request this topic be closed. Let me know you've sen this post.

Stay Safe out there.

Wingman,

The only paid version is the Malwarebytes which I will keep until expiration as I did use a coupon I found and got a discount on it.

I have removed HiJack This and Also the Sphos Anti Rootkit as you suggested.

Then I checked IE and I do have IE8 installed. I went into tools, internet options, advanced, security and unchecked Smartscreen filter as per instructions I found on Google. Thus leaving Spyware Blaster installed.

When I was doing a program removal on Hijackthis from the control panel, it told me that when I removed it, I would have to go and manually erase Hijackthis.exe. I did a search and found about 7 other things containing the words Hijackthis, so I went ahead and erased them as well.

I've rebooted the system and everything seems to work just fine.

I would like to thank you for your help and being patient with me as I have worked through this ordeal. You've done a really good job.

Hopefully I wouldn't be opening any more ecards from nobody ever again.
