Thank you for all of your help. everything is working fine. Ive downloaded the updates and the spyware software.

However, I still get a Windows Help Center dvd decoder Upgrade Error Message which was what got me in this mess.

I have Windvd installed and I get a ivivideo.dll file error which was what I was trying to download from Limewire.

Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed with this?

Have you tried uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling?

Ive tried the uninstall/install with no success. I dont need windvd. Ive tried unistall windvd but I still get the Ivivideo.ax error. I primarily use Wmedia player 11 which plays music and video files but closes on dvds and gives the Ivivideo.ax windows error.

It is a Pioneer DVR-104 that win xp says is working fine! I can burn and copy data and video dvds with Nero. I have searched for the latest drivers for the Pioneer and I think I have them installed. This is how I got into this mess.

It is configured as a primary slave and my cd rom is configued as a secondary master. Is this correct? Should it be the other way around?

Can there be a conflict with other software. I noticed HP software is not working right so I uninstalled it as well.

Unfortunately I am unable to help you with this particular problem as it does not appear malware related. I would gladly help if I knew how. :( I think asking at a forum that has particular threads regarding hardware/software might be your best option. You should be able to find help with those that specialise in the particular problem you are having.

I now know where to go if I ever encounter malware problems again. I will let others know of this site and the fine moderators it has.
