I am infected with antispywarebot and hostile infections

Please can someone help I am going nuts, My computer is infected with antispywarebot and by the looks of it, it has other infections that I cannot get rid of. I have tried everything I can think of but my understanding of computers is very limited. I have run virus cheks till I'm blue in the face and I am still infected. Adaware tells me I have 19 hostile infections and it wont remove or quarantine the items, malwarebytes and spybot seach and destroy tell me they have fixed infections but they ae still there, antispywarebot is on my startup and as much as I uncheck it, it stays put. A squared has also picked it up in the registry but still can't get rid of it. My computer takes forever to load up and when I click on any icons on the desktop I can wait anything up to 10 minutes for anything to happen it is so frustrating as I don't know what I am infected with besides antispywarebot. Reason for slowness is here:

Total RAM: 223 MB (30% free)

You have way too little RAM for XP to work well.

I recommend that you at least double it; RAM is very cheap nowadays.

Thanks I'll look into that, Does it look like my computer has freed itself up a bit? is that all we can do for now? Thanks again

Computer gets slower by age.

We can disable some startup programs but adding RAM is only real help for slowness.
