Still problems?

Hi,
There's still the file Tune-up utilities 2008 in the Start menu.
How do i get rid of it? On top of this, When I start to turn off the PC it says that some sort of memory of Acrobat reader it has not been possible to read. Shall I update Acrobat reader?

You should be able to delete from here:

Fix this entry and it should go away:

It is recommendable to update Acrobat Reader, too.

What do you mean by "fix this entry"? How do I do it?

Open HijackThis, click do a system scan only and checkmark that.

Close all windows including browser and press fix checked.

I fixed the Adobe reader but The Tuneup utilities file is still there in the list of programmes of the pc. It still says error 1722.

2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.

You will now be presented with a screen similar to the one below:



5. Highlight Tuneup utilities entry and choose delete this entry.

Have you deleted all tuneup entries from uninstall manager?

There was one entry only, which I deleted with the uninstall manager of Hijackthis. I do not understand why it is still there even though in the add/remove programme there is no more a button to uninstall it (though i used to click on it and did not let me uninstall it before)

1. Please download regsearch.zip and save it to your desktop.
2. Right click on regsearch.zip and select Extract All....
3. Click Next on seeing the Welcome to the Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction Wizard.
4. Click on the Browse button. Click on Desktop. Then click OK.
5. Once done, check (tick) the Show extracted files box and click Finish.
6. Double click on regsearch.exe to run it.
7. Copy and paste string to search under TuneUp (boxed up in red in the screenshot below).
   
   
   
8. Click OK.
9. When done, RegSearch.txt will open. Please post the contents of this file in your next reply. This file can also be found on your desktop or wherever regsearch is extracted to.
