Ran adaware 2007 on the 11.6.2007 and it found a rootkit containg 19 critical nasties which it removed.I also have a hidden file called kdnek.exe in windows system32 registry and in the prefech.These files are showing up in my anti-virus rootkit scan as HEUR crypted.I am running xp. Thanks in advance for any help. Firstly I would like to thank you very much silver for your time and dedication in
helping me to get my system cleaned up.
My pc was still running ok so I was not aware of any problems until adaware picked up a rootkit.
I have installed Windows defender and bookmarked all other suggestions
for protection,to action in due course.
