Sure, no problem. :)

  • Open the Start menu and select Settings.
  • Click on Update & security.
  • Open the backup tab, located in the left panel.
  • Select More options, under Back up using File History.
  • At the bottom of the page there is an option to Restore files from a current backup. Please click on it.
  • Navigate to your backed up files and select any that you want restored.
  • Click the Restore button.

Were you able to restore your files?

hi mAL. I followed the above instruction and it let me to a page saying ( no file history found ) . ive checked the drive and the files are there. is there anything else I need to do within the last instruction please

Let's try the following..

  • Open the Start menu and select Settings.
  • Click on Update & security.
  • Open the backup tab, located in the left panel.
  • Select Add a drive, and select your external drive..
  • Select More options, under Back up using File History.
  • At the bottom of the page there is an option to Restore files from a current backup. Please click on it.
  • Navigate to your backed up files and select any that you want restored.
  • Click the Restore button.

If this doesn't work, then you might have to restore your files/folders manually. I know it isn't ideal, but I'm afraid there is not much more I can do to help with this problem, since this is outside of my area of knowledge.

You should make frequent backups of your data and this is something I can't stress enough.. The new type of malware nowadays is Ransomware, which will encrypt all your files in order to extort money from you. A word of caution: Using Peer-to-peer (P2P) programs such as BitLord is a sure way to get infected. As you can see from the lines taken from your logs, BitLord is allowed to bypass your firewall. This basically means that anything can go in and out of your computer without asking for your permission. It's no surprise that most people who get infected are P2P users. Please follow my advice and stay away from peer-to-peer software...it will save you a lot of headaches in the future.
